As the last few months of 2014 approach us, I want to apologize for not keeping this website updated like I need to. This year has been busy for me with work and my health, but I am looking forward to making changes in my life where I can do more with this site. I will keep you updated.

 

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE!!!

Everyone, it is that time of the year again when we need to reach deep in our hearts and cabinets to consider others that are less fortunate. Saturday November 8th the Summit Park Baptist Church Youth Group will be going door to door collecting Non-Perishable Food for the Summit Park Food Pantry. If they do not make it to your door, please feel free to drop it off at the Summit Park Baptist Church. This food will be distributed to the community of Summit Park through the Baptist Church Food Pantry program, to help those who need a hand this time of year.

So please clean out your cabinets for NEXT Saturday and help out with the Summit Park food pantry. The food drive will start at 1pm on Saturday, please place your food on your front porch or at the bottom of you steps especially if you have a dog.

Fire Department Update

Since April 2014 the Summit Park Fire Department has been reorganized and restructured to better the communities that they serve. After electing a new Chief, he has had one goal, getting the reputation back that the Fire Department had years ago. With the new Chief in place, there were special elections held to replace the administrative offices in the department. The election gave them a new President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and a total of 7 Board of Directors from throughout the community to help run the department. Over the last five months the department has cleaned the place up, restructured internally and externally, several of the members that ran in previous years came back to help get the place in shape. They went from having barely 10 fire fighters to having 21 on the roster. The finances are being handled accordingly, bills are being paid on time, utilities are on and the trucks are in running order. The fire department will be waiting patiently for the day they are approved to go back into service.
